I did even more testing. Windows has memory compression. Originally i wanted to use rammap, but.... it says it in taskmanager if you hover over. Idle: 200Mb compressed size, roughly 600mb uncompressed (so similar as zram, mac os etc) Under load (GIMP+noise, firefox, edge (ew i touched that)): 0 (yes zero) to 400 mb compressed. So uncompressed size is about 0 to 1200 mb. It didn't even try compressing, straight to fucking SSD. Both on 11 and 10. 12GB ram and 8GB respectively
I re-did the test on mac os, this time with vm_stats... Pagesize 16K, in compressor some amount of pages... So activity manager shows compressed size, and to get actual amount of memory used u multiply that by 3, because compression ratio was again around same ballpark. All of this translates to 2GB compressed, 6GB uncompressed... In idle. This might sound scary, but probably it is just caching files or something from SSD.
Linux... I didn't re-test, but from memory (haha get it :D), 0 in idle (because linux doesnt use zram for caching... perhaps u can enable it somehow?), whatever max size u told zram to be under full pressure, before it uses SSD.
So I dungetit. Why tf windows NT is worse than freetard garbage? Perhaps they should fire even more people, especially from shell department, and instead hire people that do kernel shit... Or don't hire anybody, because kernel people at Microsoft are probably not dumb, and just give them fucking task to solve this issue.
