here are ideas for features, some of these have already been mentioned.
open-source: fork the emanon bbs backend on github to add approved features
liability reduction: link filtering and reporting system for posts, implement self hosted captcha and cryptographic tokens just in case
improved posting experience: passwords to delete/edit posts, an option field to allow for discreet saging
communication: word-filtering, cross-thread linking by referencing a thread's subject (or id) and possibly the post number of its replies
usability & cosmetics: ability to change the theme, floating post composition area, search page, banner submissions

wacky flags please!

>>55
flags are braindead /pol/tard shit

>>56
wasnt asking for country flags but like wacky fun flags also you didnt sage

Clicking a post number to add it to the text field isn't working for me, here's what the console says:
script.js:115:15
Uncaught ReferenceError: iso is not defined
quote →/script.js:115
onclick →/lounge/?time=1734554435:1

>>58

It works on my machine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

sounds like a "you" problem. don't even mention which browser or any extentions you may have added.

>>59 Oh yes I know it is. But it works on other text boards. I was just letting you know.

>>57
did i specify country flags and not all kinds of flags, like the meme ones? go find anonymous friends elsewhere to play with dolls with.

what about /metal/ lounge, for all bare metal heads out there

or

custom user specified (board/genre)tags for posts

another feature request: no ip bans. I share same single one vpn ip with other anons, and if some one of them getting banned for their shitposting or even for wrong reasons by powertripping mod, that affects others ability to post.

GIVE ME MORE BOARDS GIVE IT TO ME

This place needs needs a git repo, even hosted locally is fine, of a fork of the emanon BBS for denpa-chan. The least the deadbeat admins can do is make a repo to update the site with new features others can code: the most obvious being proper timezones as >>19 suggested. Literally all the admins would have to do is merge the code with the new feature after testing.

>>64
nothing is stopping you from doing it yourself.

>>65
Will do soon :)

Would like there to be a search bar.

Prove you deserve any new features for board. You don't. You don't, until you start making better posts. The internet would be better if there were MORE deadbeat admins and less spiritual full-timer reddit mods. For what Denpachan can hope to be, I think its administration is great.

*the board

>>22
what are you even on about?

>>68 Nice bait mate

i kinda wish there was a [redacted] equivalent for this site. I wish it was easier to keep track of replies you made since things move kinda slowly. Also i guess (YOU)s would be nice for the aforementioned issue.

>>70
They were talking about security vulnerabilities in video and pretending to be a little noided about it

>>14
>>39
does anyone know what the favicon for this site actually is?

>>74
no clue what it's supposed to be but you can find the image at denpa-chan.org/favicon.png
it always reminded of a face

Ban inane "bump" posts.

>>74
>>75

is it not obvious? it's denpa-chan's mascot obviously. all the real ones know.

→/read.cgi/lounge/1719416546/l50

>>76
yea, anon! lets only talk in the threads everyone else is talking in

>>78
If you want to bringback an old thread, you should have to contribute something new to the discussion. Otherwise, youre just bumping it for no reason.

Ban homosexuals, especially that honrnyposter.

Make homosexuality mandatory

It would nice if the post preview that appears when you hover over a link to another post from a thread's page also worked in the various board homepages. Right now it only shows if you navigate to a thread's url via "Last 50 posts" or "Entire thread". Should be fairly actionable.

webp support. don't care how just support it.

>>83
for what? it's not an imageboard

>>84
don't matter just gotta support webp we need more webp support to fight big png

>>85
ah yes, we need to help support the google project with billions of dollars behind it that has already infected every single modern browser with it's insane video compression lossy bullshit.

if you wanted to support QOI at least that would be something somewhat denpa-adjacent, even if it's still retarded in the context of a text board.

homura give me the strength to not always be so triggered by every one of meat's insane ramblings.

>>86
one i said that as joke as a le troll as the kids would say xd. but i do think WEBP should be given much more support it's far better than jpeg png and gif combined... better images with smaller sizes. also libwebp is foss. the format is completely royalty free. also i said webp not webm. webp does not do video

shrodiner's jokes from meat, the systemd shill, who still runs windows. very strange behavior. how much is the nsa paying you to torment me?

no one said it /does video/ it USES video compression algorithms to compress the file.
"better" again, like systemd. it is smaller than JPG a format no one should use. yay. it's better than gif, another format no one should use. yay. It's not better than png. not that png is great. but png is lossless, and that makes it better then webp. it is supported by everything. it has been around for ever. it isn't owned by google who is shadily trying to develop new extentions for it which may not be foss thanks to their dumb as rocks bsd licence in a very embrace extend extinguish model.

>>88
one webp explaining the chicken or egg dilemma please!

>>90
fishe moment

this one is a serious one okay so you know how there's like on the individual "boards" there's the view "View all Threads" thing but for the [All] one or like all "boards"

A filter that prevents you from accidentally posting the same message twice

Moderate your fucking website for Christ's sake. There's child porn being posted

>>94
it gets posted like once a day gets deleted after a little bit repeat the next day i think n0 is the only one who moderates the site so chill-out and i am pretty sure it's a human posting it. i don't think n0 is checking nonstop and there's not really too much else to really do besides just ignoring it lol

>>95
could add some jannies

>>96
Fucking this, oh my god

>>95
if he only has the time to check his website once a day, perhaps he needs more jannies.
i dont know where he'd be able to find jannies that wouldnt powertrip, though.

>>98
Could the jannies really powertrip if their only duty was to delete cp and nothing else?

>>99
there is no way to give someone only the ability to delete stuff that everyone agrees should be deleted. if it was easily filterable (cat and mouse filter evading game etc) then we wouldn't need additional jani support.

it is a problem. and there are solutions, perhaps even solutions which may be implemented. not that the solutions which are likely to be choosen will be universally accepted. oh well.

>>100
there are now robust solutions plural to this problem, and their implementation will result in the community becoming divided on which solution they prefer.

however you implement moderation systems there is never an ideal solution, whether you lock down a textboard behind a login wall or choose to try to make it work with whatever you can throw at it.

because the mechanics of the change of medium or lack thereof, the change in format will act as a gravity well pulling whoever is inclined to it.

search & dark
