Like Denpa-chan.org under its current owner, n0, I still want it to respect the original ethos of its founder on Denpachan.org without impeding on his forum's community. I decided to take the initiative to necromance a curated version of the archives due to me feeling its sister board lacked the same atmosphere due to it being a different medium altogether.
With that being said, I understand moderating a site like this is a major time commitment irregardless of the method. Therefore I have implemented robust advanced automated features to manage all forms of spamming, obnoxiousness, forbidden topics and conduct, and hyperlinks to solicitous and illicit content.
I can't be a moderator 24/7 so if the sister board is not your cup of tea and you want a traditional text board format that is the way it must be done, adapt or die is the stakes of any arms race. Note these features are experimental, so if anything breaks please contact me at an email address with the username being admin and the domain name being of this website. Due to this, I will make this site open source under the GPLv3 license once some interest is shown. Please contact me if you would like to contribute so that I can send you your credentials.
Tripnames are to be purchased for a lifetime at 0.0000125 BTC per character with an 0.0001 BTC minimum to help support the site while preventing abuse and favoritism. Since the payment portal is not active at this time, please email me a request of what tripname you would like. I will reply with a link to an invoice and within 24 hours of payment you will receive a reply containing your passphrase.
In future, other non-intrusive methods may be integrated; For example, static banner ads submitted by community members. This is to make this site financially sustainable for the foreseeable future without dipping into my own limited funds and spending my best hours on something that could earn me a living.
In my opinion, it is better that a few generous contributors allow for this place to be a viable project than it devolve into an echo chamber of who-knows-who since I don't have the time or patience for that. Ideally my role should be an absentee landlord that stops by once in a blue moon only caring the place isn't trashed so I'm not sued and that rent was paid so we all can live our lives.
This is a strictly SFW (safe for work) textboard. As of now Denpachan is NOT part of the Lainchain Webring, nor offically syndicated or endorsed by the founder as of now but would be open to such designations if invited.
Politics is not allowed whatsoever except if the effects of which are used to put a non-political statement or explanation in context.
/film/ and /gaming/ do not exist as boards on this website and were collapsed into /media/
/okatu/ being for discussion of any obsession one has not necessarily for anime, manga, and visual novels.
Self promotion is only allowed in /shill/.
There are two new boards:
The original about page from the founder is below, with anything striken through done in order to preserve it while denoting a change in policy.
Denpa-chan.org is a textboard using emanon BBS. Posts are anonymous by default, but you can optionally include a name or tripcode.
Denpa-chan is not 4chan.
The environment I hope to cultivate here is not supposed to replicate the culture of 4chan. It is recomended that new users lurk moar before posting.
It is the owner's opinion that many other boards are of poor quality because rules against off-topic posting are not enforced. It is encouraged that users do not bump poor quality / off topic threads. Please don't make me have to moderate this place too heavily.
If I had to say the sort of atmosphere I'm going for, it would be something akin to sushichan, a comfy hangout spot for friendly discusion. Threads and posts may be subject to autosage, locking or deletion if they devolve into flamewars, off topic derailment, break the rules, or are otherwise of excesively poor quality.
Politics Considered Uncomfy
The internet has been ruined by political shilling and argumentation. We have a permasaged politics containment thread here. Any posts about politics outside of this thread will be deleted, and repeat offenders will be banned. What counts as politics is up to the admin's discretion.
We have several boards:
